Birthday Bash

Happy 50th CapU!

The North Vancouver campus community packed the Birch Building cafeteria to celebrate Capilano University’s 50th birthday on Monday, September 10, 2018, with a massive cake, live music and great wishes for the future. CapU students, staff and faculty attended the event alongside special guests—alumni, faculty and the first registrar from when CapU opened its doors in 1968.

“We’re proud of our accomplishments and the many students, and now alumni, who have used their CapU experience as a stepping stone to personal and professional success,” said Capilano University President Paul Dangerfield “It’s because of that pride that we celebrate 50!”

Birthday message from the Prime Minister of Canada

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who sent a video message to CapU, remarked, “CapU has empowered thousands of Canadians and people from around the world. Your alumni are artists of all kinds and educators and executives in every field. Above all, they’re leaders.”
